Anniversaries

Today marks two years since we bought our farmhouse. Today also would have been my dad’s 54th Birthday!!

When my dad passed in April 2011… we found out shortly after that we were expecting Rylan! Rylan has the most beautiful blue eyes just like my dad! I always say that Rylan was a gift from my dad to help us all through the loss! When we bought our house and found out we would be closing and moving on my dad’s birthday, September 14th, I knew it was a sign… it was a day that I felt so much of his presence with us.

My dad is my hero. He was a giver and a lover. He loved with all that he was and he would give the shirt off of his back for anyone he cared for. He didn’t get to meet his grand-babies and that is one of the hardest parts for me. But I know he’s with us and am thankful for the guidance he sends us! We miss him everyday, but we count our blessings for the gifts and guidance he sends from above!!

So today, I celebrate my dad and our home!! Two gifts and blessings!

  1. In my experience your children still like to hear your memories of your lost loved ones – it’s part of your history so in effect part of theirs too. You might not think they are terribly interested but one day the odd thing comes out in conversation and you realised they at least listened when you talked about them.
