A little while back I shared some inspiration for Rylan’s room makeover here. And shortly there after I shared an update. His room is superhero themed and we tried to incorporate both modern and vintage touches to the decor and style.
We used lots of fun metal and wood pieces from Hobby Lobby. We also used some super heroes he had collected. Most recently we added a desk to his room for him to build legos on and do his homework. We didn’t want to buy a desk but wanted to build something that would be functional and not take up a ton of space.
So here it is… hubby built this cute corner desk using pine wood from Home Depot. We stained the wood using a dark walnut stain which you can find here. We then used brackets he found in a local hardware store. Any long brackets would work for this project. We used longer brackets to help support the floating desk.
The cute lego container was only $12 at Hobby Lobby at 50% off! I also found that cute desk supply container at Hobby Lobby for $7 at 50% off! We will fill it with markers, crayons, etc. Rylan is really into legos and coloring/drawing these days!!
The beautiful vintage chair was a piece I purchased from a friend. It is naturally distressed and we love how it looks here! I may add a cork board of some sort to the wall for him to display his art work… haven’t quite decided! Let me know what you think!
