Sofia turned 3… it happened. It is a bit hard to come to terms with. But I’ll be okay. hahaha
If you look here, you will see what I had planned for Sofia’s birthday celebration. I didn’t take as many photos as I would have liked. But I wanted to share what we ended up doing!
My mom and I went to the Dollar Store where I found these super cute basket liners in gingham print. I used them to line baskets for chips. I also found a set of red bowls for the dips. Three for $1.00!! I purchased all paper products here as well and found some cute patriotic themed hanging fans for the tent. Lastly, I purchased the tins to put food in (this way they are disposable and make for easy clean up). I spent a total of $30 at the Dollar Store!!
My next stop was Party City. This is where I purchased gingham table cloths and a gingham banner. The banner came with letters, which allowed me to personalize it for Sofia’s Birthday!! Lastly, I purchased some small American flags here to use in the centerpieces. My total here was under $35!!
The final shopping happened in the grocery store for all of the food items. The menu consisted of; assorted chips and dips, burgers and hotdogs, potato salad (my mom’s famous), my friend Christie’s incredible crock pot mac n cheese, a caprese salad, fruit salad, ice cream cake and assorted adult beverages. I made a white raspberry sangria that was delicious. I will share that recipe in another post with summer recipe favorites!!
I used white flowers from our grocery store to make centerpieces using mason jars we already had. I added a small American flag to these to add to the theme. I also had these adorable patriotic cups from a few years back that I used to put candy in. I got twizzlers and red, white & blue m&m’s from the grocery store! We hung the dollar store decorative fans to the tent and made the DIY banner from Party City. The decorations were just enough. Simple and festive!! The white tent in the photos is one I ordered on Amazon (click on link to find the tent) a couple of years ago. This tent was well worth the price, as we use it for every BBQ now. It provides much needed shade and is super easy to pop up!
The last and most important detail was what the princess wore!! I won an amazing giveaway on IG a while back and one of the items was an adorable romper from Bella Festa Crafts (an etsy shop). This romper is so soft and stretchy and was so beautiful!! If you’re looking for some summer rompers for your little one, definitely check her shop out!!
Stay tuned for another post with my favorite summer recipes!!
