It is time to plan Sofia’s third birthday party… I know… how in the world has three years gone by already. Time seriously goes way too fast. More the reason to listen when people say, time will fly so enjoy each moment. They aren’t kidding!!
Sofia was born FIVE days past her due date on July 3, 2014. Five whole days of praying and wishing her out of my belly hahaha She was stubborn then and is just as stubborn now.
We have decided on a patriotic themed birthday party since we are celebrating on the 4th of July with a small bbq! I promised I wouldn’t go overboard this year… but it’s so hard not to when event planning and home decor makes my soul sooo happy.
So here it is… some budget friendly solutions to planning this party….
The dollar store is my friend when party planning. This is where I get all paper products (cups, plates, silverware, napkins, food containers, table covers, etc.) My budget there is about $35. I will be using gingham table clothes on the tables with white paper plates and napkins. We will also get red cups and blue silverware. Party City has the gingham table cloths at a great price, only $2.99 each. Here is my inspiration…
Then comes the fun stuff… decorations. I found this really cute idea on Pinterest… I will purchase the flowers from the grocery store at $6.00 a bouquet and 3 bouquets. I have several mason jars to use for vases and burlap ribbon to wrap around the mason jars. I will purchase a few small flags to add to the flower centerpieces ($5). The plan is to add some of these to all of the tables.
My next ideas are for food and the food table. I am planning to have a hotdog and burger bar with some of Sofia’s favorite side dishes!! Chips with assorted salsas and dips will be added for appetizers because they are also Sofia’s favorites!! And finally, for dessert: a fruit platter and ice cream cake for the birthday girl!
For entertainment we have corn hole/bean bag toss (whatever you call it), a kids pool, outdoor kids toys and a camp fire!!
Stay tuned for pictures of her birthday party following the 4th of July!! Follow me on Instagram for updates on my inspiration blog posts!
